Dear Bernie,

I wrote Mrs. Clinton an open letter, now I’m writing to you.

Chappaqua vigil #DearMrsClinton

I held a public vigil in my hometown of Chappaqua last night in an attempt to request that my neighbor Hillary Clinton take a position on a very important issue that impacts millions of my neighbors in the NYC metro area. The aging Indian Point nuclear reactor is just 11 miles away as the crow flies. 105 feet away, Spectra Energy is building a jumbo explosive pipeline.  There is no where else in our country where a potentially explosive gas pipeline sits so close to a nuclear power plant. 40+ years of radioactive waste is also up there. What a tempting terrorist target this is, just 25 miles from Times Square.

I wrote Mrs. Clinton an open letter, now I’m writing to you.

You and Mrs.C are participating in  a democratic debate on CNN this Thursday night. Millions of us will be watching.
This is the trio of questions that I’d like to see you both answer.
The three questions

The three questions

THE THREE QUESTIONS:

  •  What is your position on Spectra’s AIM pipeline project?
  • Where do you stand on the continued operation of Indian Point?
  • Are you okay with the combo of an aging nuclear power plant so close to a potentially explosive pipeline?

We have heard both you and Mrs.C  make statements on fracking. However, the real issue now is the thousands of miles of pipelines carrying explosive gas for foreign export. These pipelines go through our towns, past schools and eminent domain is being used to seize property.  Spectra’s AIM pipeline is one of the most significant ones due to it’s proximity to  Indian Point and to NYC. Voters want to know where you both stand on infrastructure like this.
