Trees are powerful beings. They act as lungs on the earth, absorbing carbon dioxide and transforming it into oxygen. Trees absorb light energy and transform it into food. They also absorb negative forces transform it into good energy.
Tree hugging is not just for dirt worshipping hippies like me.
For years, I’ve been advising cancer survivors and other clients to go outside and find a tree to hug. When they get done laughing at me and try it out, they are surprised at how they feel differently after spending time with these deep rooted quiet friends. Trees have a calm presence and grounded vitality, something we could all use more of. Scientists have studied the vibrational energies of trees and have determined measurable health benefits.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. My words and actions have rubbed off on my kids.
My NYC based daughter comes home often to visit a tree at Rockwood Park in nearby Sleepy Hollow, NY. It is a majestic American Sycamore overlooking the Hudson. It is so big, she can’t stretch her arms all the way around it. She’s been communing with this tree for many years.
