I’ve been busy this spring working on a short film about the absurdity of the Indian Point evacuation plan. The plan includes over 800 bus stops in the 10 mile zone surrounding the aging nuke plant. The way I see it, to think that an evacuation can be effectively carried out on our crowded Westchester County roadways is truly an exercise in insanity! Which is why my friend Andrea and I decided to embark upon this little film project.
We’ve been conducting interviews with nationally recognized experts and with people who live within the 10 mile evacuation zone and now we’re looking to set up some scenarios that will make the movie visually interesting.
So here’s the deal.
Next Saturday, April 26th at 4pm, we will be filming a mock evacuation at an Indian Point evacuation bus stop in Croton NY (exact address: 35 S Riverside Ave, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520.) Please join us! If you come, make sure to bring your suitcases, backpacks, whatever you would want to take with you in the event of a nuclear emergency evacuation.
Come and help us make the point that the current evacuation plan is unworkable and unsafe.
