Since my arrest in late August in front of the White House, the movement to convince President Obama to stand up to big oil continues to grow. The message is loud and clear: the Keystone XL Tar Sands pipeline is NOT in our national interest.

Nine Nobel Peace Laureates, including the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, wrote a letter to President Obama urging him to reject the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline and begin building a clean energy future.

Rallies led by my fellow Tar Sands Action arrestees have greeted President Obama in Richmond, Virginia, Columbus, Ohio and Raleigh, North Carolina. Folks in Boston also led an action on Harvard’s campus targeting Obama 2012 campaign manager Jim Messina, and another action is planned tomorrow at an appearance by Vice President Biden in Delaware.
