Andrea and I sitting in a NYC TV studio in front of a green screen.

Now that our little nuclear evacuation movie is complete, it is time to get some media coverage of the movie and the questions surrounding nuclear emergency evacuation. Last week, the nationally syndicated Thom Hartmann Show had us on to talk about The Plan(?)

The show airs from Washington DC, so we headed to a satellite studio in NYC to be patched in, live. It’s always an interesting experience to be on this type of TV. They put you in a room with bright lights, put a tiny speaker in your ear and a tiny mike on you. Then they leave the room and you get to stare at a robotic camera.

You sit and wait, the minutes that tick slowly by, until finally the speaker in your ear tells you that you’re up next! Its not easy to stare into bright lights and a robotic camera and look like you’re talking to a fellow human!

That being said, I think we did alright in getting our message across. The point of the movie is to bring attention to the outdated, untested, absurd evacuation plan for the Indian Point nuclear reactor.

Here’s a link to the segment from the Thom Hartmann Show, let me know what you think!
