Where does your garbage go when you throw it “away”?

I’ve been pretty quiet about this little project for the past few months, but now that it’s finished, I’ll spill the beans. I’ve been busy working away on another short film at the Jacob Burns Film Center’s Media Arts Lab through a special Green Change for Non-Profits program that was generously funded by Con Edison. I partnered up with my pal Andrea G. from Pleasantville and we’ve made a 5 minute movie about garbage and what happens to it when you roll your can trash to the end of your driveway. The film will be on the Pleasantville Recycles website in early 2013.

This course enables green  groups to craft a message and tell a story through all aspects of movie-making from start to finish. We crafted a storyline, scouted out locations, filmed for many weeks, edited our clips, added voiceovers, music and special effects.  Its a stunning amount of work to make just 5 minutes of film that is informative and (hopefully) entertaining.

If you’re nearby, I’d love to invite you to the official premiere here’s the info:

Date: Wednesday December 12th 6:30pm

Location: Jacob Burns Film Center Media Arts Lab in Pleasantville.

RSVP Theresa Dawson at tdawson@burnsfilmcenter.org

You’ll also get to see short films created by folks from other green groups:

Hilltop Hanover Farm.

See you at the movies!
