The holidaze are finally over, that means diet and de-tox season is upon us. The good news is that I promise you, I am not here to sell you some magic program, powder or supplement that will make your holiday weight gain disappear.

Most diets and weight loss strategies are complete fairy tales. These fairy tales persist because they make people money. The weightloss industry is a huge business in the US, yet more than 80% of all weight lost is regained. How’s that for a business with repeat customers?

If you’re lucky, you might drop a few pounds for a short amount of time, but the sad reality is that diets and de-toxes do not create sustainable long term weight loss.

This month, I’ll be sharing my Dieting Mythology collection with you.  Taking the time to visit some unexamined assumptions about food and health will help you to see through the dieting delusions that most Americans succumb to.  As the myths are exposed, you’ll find a new way to approach food and discover a path to your optimal weight that works.

For today, take a few minutes to ask yourself what it is that you believe to be true about diets. Send me any questions or comments via email susan@drsusanrubin.com . Starting tomorrow, we will begin to take a long hard look at those dieting myths that keep you stuck!
