You will find if on Patreon, a platform for artists and other creative people.
My goal with this radical handmade, screen free publication is to provide edible education that will help raise the Food IQ of eaters, especially families. By cultivating a connection to vegetables, you’ll be protecting your taste buds from takeover by the food industry. Cooking and growing fresh food from scratch is a small act of rebellion that holds the power to heal both people and the planet. A degree in nutrition is not needed to build optimal health, an open mind and a sense of adventure is.
If you want your family to be healthy and resilient, one of the most important things you can do is to create a lifelong love of vegetables. My little monthly zine contains recipes and strategies that will help develop a playful and healthy connection with real food and where it comes from.
When it comes to food and health, quick fixes don’t really work. Building truly sustainable healthy habits requires time, patience, a willingness to experiment and even to make some mistakes along the way. Small changes over time are the key to sustainably incorporating lots of vegetables into your family’s food repertoire. What better way than to get a monthly zine in your mailbox? There will be extra surprises in that envelope each month: seeds, both real and metaphoric, for change.
Many of the recipes shared in the zine are part of Mount Kisco Child Care’s Feed Me Fresh food and garden program, which I have been co-creating and facilitating for over 10 years. These recipes have a track record of success with children from ages 18 months up to 5th grade. I have seen with my own eyes that when kids grow and prepare vegetables, they love them.
As a parent of 3 kids, I’m here to tell you from experience that before you blink, your kids will be grown and flown. When they are off on their on in the real world, you’ll sleep better knowing that they can prepare delicious and health supportive food. If you’re lucky, they’ll be cooking for you one day. My zine can help you get there.
