Anthony Bourdain's most recent book: Medium Raw
Since I read mostly non-fiction, the answer was easy. Anthony Bourdain. This witty, wise cracking chef, author and world traveler never fails to entertain me. His first best seller, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, intrigued me because when I waited tables during my college and dental school years, I had met many wacky people that Bourdain wrote about.
His next book, A Cooks Tour combined food and world wide travel which set him up with a TV show of the same name. You can now find Bourdain on the Travel Channel, his show No Reservations is fun to watch, it will make you hungry for both travel and good food.
Anthony is now a dad. I look forward to the day when his kid is eating school food. Without a doubt, this wise cracking, foul mouthed foodie will have lots to say about the toxic food environment in the US.
