On May 5th, hubby and I adopted a new doggie. His name was Nutter, its now Walter. Walter had been living in a very nice foster home after being rescued from somewhere in Boone County, West Virginia. Sheryl’s Den, a rescue organization from New Jersey had traveled down to West Virginia to pick up some dogs who were destined to be euthanized. Our guy was one of the lucky ones who made it out.
We’re still getting to know him, he’s a terrier mix who looks like he may have a bit of Jack Russell in him. He has grown up teeth that are very white, so our vet thinks he’s older than 6 months but younger than a year. He could use to gain a few pounds, you can feel his ribs when you pet him, we’ll feed him good food and treats.
Walter looks like a super model, he’s tall, thin and has quite a proud little walk. He was almost named Hansel after the fair haired lanky character in the movie Zoolander.
We’re still getting to know our new doggie. So far, we know for sure he loves to chase chipmunks. Haven’t seen too many squirrels in the yard since Walter got here, they must have put a memo out! Although Walter is clearly a country dog, he’s still learning how to walk on a leash. His long legs are fast and powerful, I think I’m going to end up being a runner, not a walker!
Indoors, he loves to play with stuffed animals and he often trots back and forth like a model on a runway with a squeaky skunk or rabbit in his mouth. Its great to have a dog again at the Rubin Rodeo.
